About

The Energies is a music project founded by Nick Demetris Nicola, shaped by pop and rock influences with an emphasis on melody, atmosphere and strong songwriting.

Originally formed as Kleptocracy before later becoming The Energies, the band featured Nick Bedford, Matthias Benzer, Alex Glascott and Yea-Joon Youn, with Nicola later going on to release solo material, including singles and an album.

The Energies first released music in the vinyl and CD era, long before streaming became the dominant format. Their back catalogue is now being restored, remixed and made available on streaming platforms for a wider audience, alongside more recent releases.

Recording for the project has taken place at Rockfield Studios and Soho Recording Studios, with producers and mixers including Matt Schwartz, Ian Grimble, Chris Sheldon, Cenzo Townshend, Greg Wells, Fred Falke and Lifelike.
